Move-In 2009
June 2009 Dear Students, Faculty, Staff, and Organizations, Summer is almost here and once again it is time to begin recruiting volunteers for our August Residence Hall Move-In. This year’s process will consist of one very busy day. The date and time is Friday, August 21 from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. We will need lots of volunteers to help in various capacities. We have slightly changed the move-in process to better serve our students. This year, instead of using the old Wal-Mart as an off sight check-in center, we have asked students to go directly to the residence halls to check-in. This will allow us to utilize our student staff in a more efficient manner. We appreciate the assistance provided in the past at the check-in center and hope that you will still be able to assist us this year at the halls in welcoming new students to campus. As always, we will need numerous volunteers to help in the unloading zones at each residence hall. These volunteers will be assisting new students with unloading vehicles and helping carry belongings to student rooms. If you have helped us before, we would like to have your assistance again. If you are a newcomer, we hope that you will join us as we welcome these 3,000 plus students to the University of Mississippi for the 2009-2010 academic year. A free t-shirt and numerous ‘thank yous’ from students and families will let you know how much your assistance and presence is valued. If you would like to participate in this year’s event, you may register by completing this form. Additionally, if you are a member of a local civic or church group, we are looking for numerous volunteers and would greatly appreciate the assistance. If your group is interested, they are also able to register online at the above website or we will send an organization volunteer form to the individual who will serve as the contact person.
